The 40th ISICEM will be held in-person in Brussels, with additional health and safety protocols in place to meet all local regulations at the time of the meeting.

To enter the ISICEM venue, you will need to present one of the following:

  1. A certificate of full vaccination with an EMA approved vaccine at least two weeks prior to event
  2. A negative PCR test taken less than 48 hours prior to the event
  3. A certificate of recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection within the last 6 months

For participants from the EU, these items are incorporated in your EU digital COVID certificate, which will be scanned prior to your first entrance. You will then receive a bracelet certifying that you can enter ISICEM. The bracelet is personal and must be worn continuously during the 4-day meeting.
For participants from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you can present your NHS COVID pass for scanning.
For participants from other countries, please print your certificates for checking and validating individually at the entrance.

  • Face-masks are obligatory for all participants throughout the conference center
  • Social distancing will be enforced throughout the conference center
  • There will be one-way flow systems and corridors in the exhibition area and conference center
  • Participants, exhibitors, faculty members, and staff must not attend if they have any symptoms of Covid, have a positive Covid test, or have had recent contact with a person who has or is suspected of being infected.
  • Everyone present at the meeting must inform the meeting organizers if they have a positive Covid test in the 14 days after the meeting so that contacts can be traced.

For travel to and from Brussels, participants are advised to ensure that they have the correct coronavirus documents or tests and that they comply with all local regulations (including quarantine and testing when necessary) in Belgium during their stay and in their country of origin on their return.

It is not possible to list all the different requirements for every country and regulations can change at short notice. So please check the latest official government information of your departure and arrival destination before travelling. The latest information for travel to Belgium is available at: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/travels/. You should also check with your transport company (airline, train, ferry, coach, …) for any additional regulations. To contact a Belgian Embassy in your country or your country’s Embassy in Belgium you can find all the information here.

Everyone arriving in Belgium needs to complete a Passenger Locator Form (available at the following link: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/plf/) within the 48 hours prior to their arrival in Belgium. This will generate a QR code that will be sent to you by email and that you may need in order to travel. If you are not fully vaccinated or are travelling from a red zone (check your country’s color here: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/colour-codes-by-country/), you will likely also receive an SMS with a code to arrange a PCR test after your arrival in Belgium and instructions related to quarantine.

If you need to have a PCR test on arrival or for your return trip, the closest test centers to Square-Brussels Convention Center are Pacheco and Midi.
